The Solar Installation Process

1. Explore your options

Speak to a Solar Homes Work Specialist. He or she will answer any questions you have about Solar Panel Systems, and fully discuss your requirements.

2. Assess your property

Our qualified professional will survey your property and confirm the suitability of your roof assessing the orientation, pitch, shading, type, size, accessibility and overall condition.

We will discuss your energy use and design a bespoke system to suit your home and budget.

3. Calculate expected gains

We will prepare an estimate indicating the total installation cost and expected return on your investment.

We will act with integrity and ensure that you have time to consider your choice before deciding to proceed.

4. Straightforward Process

We will take care of all the pre-installation requirements.

A property must have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) with a rating of D or higher in order to qualify for the top tariff rate. The Solar Panels will also count towards this target.

We will obtain an EPC for you if required. We will issue a draft report so that you are clear as to the position before commiting to the Solar Panel installation.

You won’t normally need planning permission, but will require Building Regulations approval, which we will obtain for you.

We will process the order for your system and schedule the relevant staff, stock and equipment.

5. Safety First

Before you place your order we will check your current installation to ensure that we can safely install a Solar Panel System.

We will arrive on a convenient date agreed with you in advance.

We will erect appropriate scaffolding to ensure your safety and that of our installers during the installation.

6. Professionally installed

An installation will normally take up to two days for Solar Electricity Panels and three days for a Solar Hot Water system depending on the size of your installation.

We are an MCS accredited installer and only use fully trained and qualified personnel.

We will securely fix your Solar Panels to your roof, and carefully install the internal parts of the system.

7. Respect your property

We will take care to minimise any disruption and ensure a neat and professional finish.

We will discuss with you the location of any internal equipment and install parts in an unobtrusive manner.

Controls and meters will be installed so as to facilitate easy access by you.

8. Handover

We will test to ensure your system is functioning properly.

We will carry out a full handover demonstrating the system and fully explaining how it works.

We will give you an owner’s manual including a full set of warranties and product guarantees.

9. After Sales Service
